Customs Regulations in Malaysia
Following the recent Customs (Amendment) Act 2018, another round of amendments to the
Customs Act 1967 were introduced, via the Customs (Amendment) Act 2019. The Amendment Act was passed by the Lower House of Parliament on 8 th April 2019 and the Upper House on 7 May 2019. It was It was gazetted as an Act of Parliament on 9 th July 2019.
These amendments represent the most significant round of changes to the Customs Act 1967. The Amendment Act outlines approximately 96 changes to the existing provisions within the Customs Act. There are 16 key amendments introduced in the Amendment Act which needs
all organizations attention.
